Navy swing coat

Hi Huns...

This swing coat almost didn't make it....When finishing up a garment or remotely coming to the end and insight of the finishing line...you at-least get that feeling....of YAAASS!...Didn't get that with this coat...slow burner...i guess...

This is actually a vintage revived from the darkest part in my bottomless wardrobe...I should really be calling it The Narnia wardrobe...Every-time i sieved through it...Something else pops out at me...that I've conveniently forgotten about...Ooh by the way I've had heaps in fact bundles of stuff...Ive kept hidden away from sight....That I've conveniently forgotten about...Always promising myself that i will go back to it...Some day...Although someday is never normally today though....meh....

I mean I've kept them there hidden for the loooongest time...Well this is the bit where i only use to use 30% or 40% of my wardrobe... and there you go....While it's been possibly overlooked by several new coats made or purchased after...Feeling sorry for it aren't you...WELL DON'T!

The seriousness of this coat and the structure alone...It can stand for itself...But mind you there was a point i felt sorry for it too...When I used to go into my wardrobe i could see it at the corner of my eye...Saying...PICK ME! WEAR ME!...I felt bad....I did...

So in a nutshell i decided to revisit it only several years later...By then it had abit of vintage dust on it...Yea!...Had a change of heart and decided to spruce it up...change the buttons added gross-grain to the edging and VIOLA!...Houston!...we have a coat!....And before you knew it was outta my wardrobe on my back strolling down the street...

Just goes to show...How final touches can really make or break a garment...

Coat Fabric used: Mid-weight Navy Cotton Drill purchased from eBay
Trimmings used: Black shinny Dome buttons and Satin grosgrain rib-boning for edges Walthamstow market stall.
